Important
This page is a draft that has been through Zappmit’s internal compliance review. It is not yet in effect. It has not been approved by any government body or regulator, and it has not yet been signed off by external legal counsel. Online ordering, payment and delivery are currently disabled on this website.
Current status
At the date of this draft, ordering, online payment and delivery are disabled on this website, which is shown as a demonstration for business activity verification. The payment pages in the software are built to hand a customer over to a payment provider, but no live payment is being taken. Nothing on this page says that a payment provider has approved or verified Zappmit for live transactions.
Who processes payments
Online payments are processed by third-party payment providers that Zappmit selects. Zappmit is not a bank, a payment aggregator or a payment gateway, and nothing on this website says that Zappmit holds a licence or authorisation from the Reserve Bank of India. Payment provider terms apply to the handling of your payment details.
Payment methods
When payment opens, the methods offered at checkout may include UPI, cards, net banking and wallets through the payment provider, and cash on delivery for services and orders where it is offered. The methods available for your order are shown at checkout, together with how each is secured, the fees that apply if any, how to cancel a recurring payment where one exists, and the contact of the payment provider.
Payment authorization
An online payment is authorised by your bank, card issuer or UPI app through the payment provider. Zappmit does not decide whether your bank authorises a payment.
Payment confirmation
An order is treated as paid only after Zappmit has verified the result with the payment provider, not merely because you returned from the provider's page. You are told through the platform when payment is confirmed.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, the order is not confirmed. Money debited for a failed payment is returned to the account it came from. The Reserve Bank of India sets turnaround times for that return, which payment providers and banks must follow where they apply, and Zappmit will help you trace a payment if you contact support.
Duplicate payments
If you are charged more than once for the same order because of a technical issue, the duplicate is eligible for reversal as described in the Refund Policy.
Pending payments
A payment can show as pending while the provider confirms it. An order is not treated as confirmed until the pending status becomes success or failure. A payment that stays pending is treated as abandoned after a period set in the system, and the unpaid order is cancelled.
Payment gateway processing
Online payments are processed by third-party payment providers and not by Zappmit directly. Zappmit has integrated PayU and Cashfree in its software. Their security and processing terms apply to your payment details. The provider's own page shows its name and terms.
Refunds
Refund eligibility is in the Refund Policy. Zappmit does not promise a fixed refund period on this page. Refunds on online payments move through the payment provider and your bank, whose own turnaround times, including the Reserve Bank of India’s timelines for failed transactions where they apply, are outside Zappmit’s control. The Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020 require refunds within a reasonable period under the rules of the Reserve Bank of India and other applicable law. A specific Zappmit refund timeline will be published once the payment and operations process that supports it has been confirmed.
Chargebacks / disputes
If you raise a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card issuer, we review it against the order and transaction records. Please write to us first so that we can try to resolve the matter directly, but you do not lose the right to a chargeback by doing so.
Cash on delivery (COD)
Where COD is offered, you pay the rider in cash at delivery. COD may not be available for every order, because order value, service type or location can limit it. The rider accounts for the cash under the Rider Terms. Where an order paid by COD is later refunded, the refund is given by a method suitable to a cash payment, as the Refund Policy describes.
What the total includes
Before you pay, the app shows the total as a single figure with a breakup of each charge. That can include the price of the goods or service, packaging charges, the delivery charge, platform or convenience fees, any surge or other charge, any discount or coupon, and taxes. Nothing is added after you confirm that was not shown to you before.
Invoices / receipts
You can get more than one tax document for one order. One covers the goods, food or service, issued by the seller or, where the law makes Zappmit the party responsible for that supply, by Zappmit. Another covers Zappmit's own charges, such as delivery and platform fees, issued under Zappmit's GST registration. They are linked to the same order. A food business that issues a bill shows its own FSSAI licence or registration number on it, as the law requires.
Taxes and charges
Taxes are charged as the law requires, and this page is not tax advice. Three cases are kept distinct. First, a seller’s own supply of goods or services is taxed under the seller’s registration and is invoiced by the seller. Second, where the law makes Zappmit liable to pay tax on a supply made through the platform as an electronic commerce operator, Zappmit accounts for that tax and the document you receive says so. Section 9(5) of the CGST Act, 2017 does this for restaurant services ordered through the platform and, since 22 September 2025, for local delivery services supplied through it by persons who are not required to register for GST. On goods that merchants sell through the platform, Zappmit collects tax at source under section 52 where that section applies. Third, Zappmit’s own charges, such as delivery, platform or convenience fees, are taxed under Zappmit’s GST registration and shown in Zappmit’s invoice. Tax rates are not stated here because they change; the rate applied to each charge is shown on your invoice. Where a refund applies, tax is adjusted through a credit note or corrected invoice.
Settlements to merchants and riders
Where Zappmit collects payment on a merchant’s behalf, settlement to the merchant follows the schedule in the merchant dashboard or the agreement, not a schedule fixed on this page. Settlement can be delayed by bank holidays, payment provider processing, fraud checks, chargebacks, legal requirements or technical failures. A settlement statement shows details such as order number, date, customer payment, refunds, taxes, adjustments, net settlement and settlement date.
Amounts due to riders are paid to the rider's registered account on the schedule in the rider agreement or app. Zappmit collects the customer's payment first and pays merchants and riders afterwards.
Security
Zappmit does not store your card or UPI credentials. The payment provider handles them under the payment-industry security standards that apply to it. We keep the transaction status and reference we need to confirm and reconcile your order.
