Important

This page is a draft that has been through Zappmit’s internal compliance review. It is not yet in effect. It has not been approved by any government body or regulator, and it has not yet been signed off by external legal counsel. Online ordering, payment and delivery are currently disabled on this website.

Overview

Orders on Zappmit are delivered by independent riders, or by the merchant or provider where they deliver themselves, depending on the service and your location. At the date of this draft, online ordering and delivery are disabled on this website. The rules below describe how delivery works once it is open for your area.

Delivery estimates

The app shows an estimated delivery time for your order before you confirm it. It is an estimate, not a guarantee, and Zappmit does not publish a standard delivery time that applies to every order. Delivery times shown in the app are estimates, not guarantees. Actual timing varies with distance, traffic, weather, preparation time, rider availability, address accuracy and other conditions. Where the law gives you a remedy for a late or failed delivery, that remedy is not removed by this statement.

Scheduled delivery

Where the app lets you choose a delivery time, you pick it at checkout, and what is available depends on the merchant's hours and the service in your area. A scheduled time is the time you asked for, and the same estimate and variability rules apply.

Why estimates may vary

Delivery times shown in the app are estimates, not guarantees. Actual timing varies with distance, traffic, weather, preparation time, rider availability, address accuracy and other conditions. Where the law gives you a remedy for a late or failed delivery, that remedy is not removed by this statement.

Service-specific restrictions

Some goods carry extra rules. Medicine is coming soon and is not available. When it opens, a medicine that needs a prescription will be supplied only by a licensed pharmacy against a valid prescription. Age-restricted goods and goods that the law prohibits or restricts for sale or carriage are not delivered through Zappmit unless Zappmit has said in writing that the category is open and you meet the conditions.

Food delivery

The food business that prepares or packs the food is responsible for its safety, hygiene, labelling, allergen information and vegetarian or non-vegetarian declaration. Zappmit, as the platform, is responsible for showing the information that the business supplies, for acting on complaints and for removing a listing that is non-compliant when it becomes aware of the problem. Report a food-safety concern to the contact in the Grievance Redressal page and, where you wish, to the State Food Safety authority.

Riders carry food in sealed packaging and are asked to keep it separate from non-food items. Hot food is best eaten promptly, and the time it takes to deliver is outside the restaurant's control once the rider has collected it.

Parcel delivery

Parcel is a Zappmit service. It is limited by the vehicle category, weight and size limits set for the service when you book, and these decide availability and the charge shown at checkout. You must not send anything the law prohibits or restricts, anything dangerous, or anything you are not entitled to send. Zappmit may refuse a parcel, and a rider may decline to carry one, for that reason. The recipient follows a parcel through a secret link, as the Privacy Policy explains.

Delivery areas

Delivery is available only in areas, and for merchants or providers, that are currently serviceable through the platform. The app shows what is available at your address.

Delivery charges

Any delivery charge, including extra charges for more than one store in an order or for conditions such as peak demand, is shown before you confirm and appears in the breakup of your total. Delivery is charged by Zappmit and is taxed under Zappmit's GST registration, as the Payment Policy explains.

Delivery codes and proof

For some orders the app shows you a delivery code. Give it only to the rider at your door, and do not share it earlier or by phone. The rider may take a photo or use a code as proof of delivery. Keep the code and any photo as evidence if you need to raise a complaint.

Undeliverable orders

If an order cannot be delivered, for example because the address is wrong, nobody is available to receive it, the item is restricted or the location is not reachable, it is handled under the Refund Policy and the Cancellation Policy.
